Victoria Bell, owner, co-founder and director of Cwmbran based Bell IT Solutions Ltd has been listed in PCR’s list of the 50 most influential women working within the IT industry today. The list marks a major leap forward in the campaign to transform the image of the industry among women.
Having spent over ten years working for various global organisations supporting the growth of business through IT, including a role as an Oracle business analyst, Victoria founded her own bespoke IT consultancy in 2012 to help businesses take advantage of the ecommerce revolution.
Victoria is also a member of the Executive Council for CompTIA UK. CompTIA is a non-profit trade association, aiming to advance the global interests of IT professionals and IT channel organisations. They provide industry-leading certifications, business credentials, education, resources and the ability to connect with like-minded, leading industry experts. She works closely with local companies in order to guide them through their accreditation in association with Software Alliance Wales.
As Victoria and her Torfaen based company continues to make an impact, she is enthusiastic about the future of the IT industry and the recognition the industry is giving to women.
“There are many fantastic and well-paid job opportunities for Women in technology. Women make great Project Managers, Project Co-ordinators, Business Analysts and Trainers to name a few. They also have the natural ability to break down technical jargon into simple English and make great communicators between the business and the technical teams.
Currently, I am working with a national team of female leaders called Advancing Women in Technology (AWIT). Our mission is to encourage young females to consider the benefits of a career in technology. They use technology as a way of life but few make the connection of the process involved to get the device, website or ecommerce website ready for the consumer market.”
And what’s next? Growing the company – Bell IT Solutions Ltd are currently looking for an equally enthusiastic web developer who can join the business.”
Victoria is Chair of the Gwent Business Women's Network and was a finalist for the Welsh Women Mean Business Awards. Bell IT Solutions are also an active member of Torfaen Business Voice – the area’s thriving business networking club. Victoria has also supported Torfaen Economy and Enterprise at the 2013 Digital Enterprise Festival and the November 2013 Torfaen Women in Business event.
