About Pontypool Markets
In 1690 Pontypool was granted permission to hold a small weekly market selling 'all manner of cattle, goods and merchandise'. Markets have been at the heart of Pontypool ever since.
Held in high regard by residents, the established, thriving and vibrant Pontypool Indoor Market is at the heart of the town. It is linked to the surrounding streets by entrances on three sides. It's a grade 2 listed Market Hall, purpose built in 1894 and recently refurbished at a cost of £2.2 million as part of the Pontypool Settlement Area Programme.
The Indoor Market is a meeting place. It's a place for refreshment, entertainment and activity. It's somewhere you can purchase that unique item from local fresh food to crafts and antiques. It's also home to some great quality convenient services like hairdressers and news agents.Take a look at our current stallholders to discover which businesses have decided to make Pontypool Indoor Market their home!
The Pontypool Indoor Market Traders Association operates a regular programme of specialist markets including antiques, craft fairs, record fairs and the flea markets on a monthly or 3-monthly basis.
