Torfaen based Flamgard receives Board of Trade Award

Pontypool based Flamgard Calidair  has received a Board of Trade Award for outstanding contribution to international trade and investment.  Managing Director, Steve Edwards, received  the award in November 2018 at a reception for international trade at Swansea University.  It was presented by the Rt Hon Dr Liam Fox (Secretary of State for International Trade) and Mr Alun Cairns (Secretary of State for Wales).

The awards are arranged by the Department for International Trade in recognition of businesses which:

  • champion free trade through exporting and inspires others to export
  • drive notable investment into the UK, generating wealth and jobs
  • demonstrate outstanding use of finance in international trade
  • demonstrate an innovative approach to opening up international markets
  • make a significant contribution to security and stability in the UK and/or abroad through trade and investment
  • champion diversity and inclusivity through international trade and encourage and inspire others to do the same

Speaking after the presentation, Steve Edwards commented: “This award is dedicated to our exceptionally talented staff – we’re proud of our role in the UK’s international trade, and we’re proud to showcase British engineering across the globe. We engineer all our high integrity dampers right here in the UK but they keep people safe the world over.”
