Abersychan business woman, Jean Church, awarded MBE in Queen's Birthday Honours List

Abersychan born business woman Jean Church has been awarded an MBE for Services to Business in the recent Queen's Birthday Honours List.  Jean is the mother of three girls, attended Pentwyn Primary and Abersychan Grammar school. She is the current Chair of the Institute of Directors in Wales, a Company Director and a founding member of the Torfaen Strategic Economic Forum. 

Speaking to Torfaen Economy & Enterprise  Jean said “I am absolutely delighted to have been awarded an MBE for Services to Business. I have always been committed to supporting the business community. It’s a great honour to have been recognised for something I love doing.” 

Councillor Richard Clark, Deputy Leader & Executive Member for Economy, Skills and Regeneration at Torfaen Council said “I would like to congratulate Jean on this fantastic achievement and also thank her for all her tireless work with the business community here in Wales. She has been an invaluable member of the Torfaen Strategic Economic Forum and  we greatly value her contributions and support.”
