Tribold announces new R & D Centre in South Wales
In March 2011 Tribold announced that it was opening a Research & Development Centre in Cwmbran, South Wales, with plans to create over 45 new jobs in software development/engineering sector, professional services and business support functions.
The Tribold R & D Centre will be used for core software production development, software testing, released product support and as a location for software implementation services.
Simon Muderack, Tribold CEO and Founder said “The new Tribold R & D Centre is a significant milestone in the growth of the company. The R & D Centre will ensure, that going forward, Tribold will be able to scale the business with a greater degree of control whilst maintaining our existing global customer base”.
When selecting the location several options across the globe were considered. Key factors including the availability of staff with required skill levels and qualifications, logistics impacts, property costs and how seamlessly the business could be intragrated into the Tribold Group as a whole.
Dr Calum Nobles, Tribold Vice President Engineering added “Tribold is hugly excited about being able to tap into the outstanding resource pool in Wales. This is a major investment for Tribold, but one I am confident will deliver outstanding returns and great products.
The news was welcomed by Ieuan Wyn Jones, Minister for the Economy and Transport who said he was delighted that another prominent ICT company had chosen to expand operations in Wales.
“We have a strong and dynamic ICT sector in Wales – a diverse industry that is recognised in our Economic Renewal strategy as an area of high growth potential. The sector also benefits from academic expertise in our universities.
“This investment will create high skilled jobs in one of our key sectors and supports our objectives to increase R & D activity in Wales and drive forward innovation. It is also good to hear that Tribold selected Wales over other global locations as inward investment remains a key priority to grow our economy”
The Welsh Government provided business finance support to help enable Tribold to establish their new R & D Centre in Wales.
