Set up by its Director, Michael Burke, in March 2019, AluView is currently based at Springvale Industrial Estate, Cwmbran. AluView is a specialist aluminium fabricator supplying Bi fold, Hinged, Shop front, Sliding doors and Window solutions throughout Wales and the South West. AluView works closely with a growing network of installers and has partnered with Smart Architectural Aluminium, the biggest supplier of aluminium throughout the UK who have provided support, staff training and guidance.
Michael has over ten years’ experience in aluminium manufacturing, and has worked for a major UK system house as Head of Production. He says “As well as a strong operational background I have also gained experience in logistics and supply chains and therefore I feel I am well placed to make AluView a real business success.”
Although only a few months into its operation, the business, Michael reports, is in a strong financial position and is enjoying a growing customer base. In addition to purchasing machinery, the business has already employed two full time, experienced fabricators to cope with the early demand.
Michael says “Aluminium has tended to be a popular choice for commercial applications. However in recent years there has been a demand for high performance, stylish, energy efficient domestic solutions which provide an affordable investment for home owners. Therefore the opportunities within the domestic home improvement market are exactly what AluView is focusing on, along with providing a first class customer centred service.”
As for selecting Torfaen as a base for his business, Michael is confident that Springvale Industrial Estate is the ideal location, saying “I can’t speak highly enough about the industrial estate. It’s a real gem. Being based here has allowed us to function from the heart of Gwent’s industrial area and benefit greatly from the perfect transport links to service our customer base. It’s also proved to be a cost effective location with better rates compared to many other places I considered.”
He concluded “We are very ambitious with our focus and targets as we strive to become one of the leading aluminium fabricators in South Wales. We aim to grow organically ensuring we are able to install the correct processes and procedures along the way. Longer term we aim to build on our expertees and capabilities by employing more staff, developing our marketing and eventually move to larger premises on Springvale. I believe the future is very bright for the business.”
Gaynor Wakeling, Business Support Manager at Torfaen Economy & Enterprise said “Having met and helped Michael earlier this year with his new business idea, I am delighted that he has decided to base AluView in Torfaen. His enthusiasm, determination and approach to the whole process has been excellent.”
Councillor Richard Clark, Deputy Leader & Executive Member for Economy, Skills and Regeneration at Torfaen Council said “I’d like to wish Michael all the very best of luck in his new business. It’s great to learn that he is already employing staff and is looking to further expand in the future, here in Torfaen.”
