Local independent business, Duke’s Gaming, has expanded and moved into new premises on Pontypool high street.
The business which started in August 2018 supports hobbyists who enjoy a range of table top, card and board games and sells popular titles including Warhammer, Pokémon, Game of Thrones and Star Wars.
Formerly a resident of The Arcade, Duke’s Gaming has moved next door on George Street.
Whilst the shop is currently closed to the public under current lockdown restrictions, Duke’s Gaming is open for click and collect as well as local and national delivery.
In addition to a range of models, cards and board games, their services include Game Night in a Box, a board game and choice of snacks for players at home during the current lockdown, as well as a professional painting service for any unpainted models. Duke’s Gaming also support players digitally with their Facebook community and online gaming.
The expansion has allowed the store to extend its range of products which includes Warlord Games, Marvel Crisis Protocol, additional paints and scenery. Upon reopening, and if Covid-19 guidance permits, Duke’s Gaming plans to host tournaments, painting lessons and now has more room to welcome players.
Luke Durham, owner of Duke’s Gaming said “Whilst the pandemic has meant this hasn’t been the year we planned, we are thrilled to be able to grow, expand and adapt our services to support people from home.”
“I’m looking forward to when we can welcome people through our new doors and will ensure we have measures in place to keep customers and players safe. In the meantime, I’d like to thank all of our customers and the Duke’s Gaming community for their ongoing support. As a small, local business this has been crucial during this challenging time and we’re so grateful”.
